For me, I wondered why if anyone got lost in the woods, would they not just eat the greens around you.

Exactly. Almost everything green is edible and I'd definitely fill myself up with greens, flowers, weeds, berries etc. before downing a bunch of worms and insects... gross. I got Markus Rothkranz's Free Wild Food and Medicine DVDs and learned a lot about how to use "weeds" to feed/heal yourself:

On the 2nd video, I had worried in the past what if TSHTF scenario, I really don't want to kill an animal, much less gut it, or heaven forbid, put a live insect in my mouth.

Then, thanks to your vids on AC, I no longer have to worry about lack of protein, and less worry about procurring it from an animal source.

For me, I wondered why if anyone got lost in the woods, would they not just eat the greens around you. Even weeds growing all over the place (nibble a little first and see if it does anything adverse).

Exactly, good question. Once you start exploiting other animals for your benefit, where does the slippery slope end? Veganism is not in any way "extreme," as people like to say. Tearing a baby calf away from it's mother so you can steal it's milk is extreme. Gobbling down chicken's unfertilized menstrual cycles is extreme. Shoving a meat-hook into a pig's face and ripping it in two while still kicking is extreme. Eating fruits and vegetables is not extreme.
